In Hare Krishna temples, pujaris perform daily rituals and care for the deities. While this role has traditionally been male-dominated, women are increasingly stepping into positions of spiritual leadership.
Through the experiences of Jamuna Jaya Devi Dasi and Ritu Roy, this video explores the role of female pujaris within ISKCON (The International Society of Krishna Consciousness) temples.
Special thanks to Jamuna Jaya Devi Dasi, who serves as a pujari at the Bhakti Center in Manhattan’s Lower East Side, and to Ritu Roy, both of whom made this video possible.
